Perfumer: JULIEN RASQUINET
The scent of paper and the smell of words. A tribute to the lights of Paris and its love of books. Dry woods are enlivened by a shimmer of nutmeg and cumin, meeting in a crackling flame of amber and vanilla. Two varieties of cedar are showcased: Atlas with its resinous, leathery character, and Virginia with its dry and spicy “new pencil” notes.
All about this fragrance
Vibe check
This is a fragrance for close, thoughtful spaces: a quiet table, a stack of opened books, a coat still carrying the cool of the street. It projects a composed, intellectual presence, with smoke and dry wood that feel intimate rather than loud.
How to wear
Best in cool to mild weather, Cèdre wears comfortably with a restrained hand. One or two sprays are enough to let the cedar and spice unfold gradually; on skin it stays dry and smoky, while in the air it reads as a soft, papery wood trail with amber warmth.
Who it’s for
For those who prefer dry woods, subtle smoke and a refined spicy edge over sweetness. It will appeal to wearers who like understated, architectural fragrances with a literary, contemplative mood and a clean woody backbone.

Headspace’s story
Headspace treats perfume as an idea distilled to its essential materials, building compositions around a single dominant impression and the atmosphere it creates. The result is often abstract, tactile and modern, with a focus on texture, memory and the space a note occupies rather than decorative complexity.
Cedre’s concept
Cèdre was launched in 2024 to coincide with Paris celebrations, and its concept is built around the scent of paper, books and the city’s literary light. The fragrance contrasts two cedar species: Virginia cedar brings a dry, pencil-shaving smokiness, while Atlas cedar adds a resinous, leathery depth, all lifted by nutmeg, cumin and amber.
Extra info
The fragrance is built around a cedar solinote, an uncommon way of centering a perfume on one wood. Its bottle was designed by Jules Dinand, and the composition was released as part of Headspace’s 2024 Paris-linked launch.
