Theme N°29 : Hesperimental

An experiment in citruses effect, ITABAÏA is the latest addition to the hesperidic genre in Pierre Guillaume's collection. It holds fresh and fruity notes that are barely concealed by the wisps of an illicit spliff: it has a neo-chypre air thanks to the hemp and vanilla accords.

Like it’s name; ITABAÏA was created by the perfumer with elegance and mystery in mind. Both the word and the perfume impresses with an exotic sound and smell, evoking Brazil, dance, a divinity…

Pierre Guillaume was inspired by the strength and energy associated with Capoeira; the Afro-Brazilian art that combines dance and wrestling. The perfume conjures the Brazilian beach of Itacaré, where dance warriors perform an acrobatic and solar ballet to the rhythm of Berimbau and feverish songs, dazzling the spectator with power, grace and harmony.

Like the sand dispersed in the wind by the acrobatic movements of the Capoeira dancers at sunset, ITABAÏA is a citrus heat wave coloured with vanilla and hemp. Its floral-fruity heart releases the green powdery scrolls of the Jurema flower tinged with a hint of passion fruit.

All about this fragrance

Vibe check

This is a fragrance for close, animated spaces where movement matters more than polish: a warm evening, open air, skin in motion. It gives the impression of someone carrying brightness with a slightly subversive edge, energetic rather than loud, with a green, sunlit trail.

How to wear

Best in mild to warm weather, where its citrus and green notes can stay crisp and airy. Apply lightly to let the hemp, leaf and vanilla nuances unfold without becoming heavy; on skin it reads fresh and textured, while in the air it leaves a soft, warm haze.

Who it’s for

For those who like citrus scents with an unconventional green bite and a modern woody finish. It suits wearers drawn to aromatic freshness, subtle complexity and fragrances that feel inventive rather than purely clean.

The nose

Pierre Guillaume is the founder and in-house perfumer of Parfumerie Générale, the numbered line that became Pierre Guillaume Paris. Trained in fine chemicals for cosmetics and perfumery, he is known for building modern, concept-driven compositions that balance originality with wearability. His style often plays with contrasts: clarity and texture, freshness and depth, familiar materials and unexpected twists. In ITABAÏA, that approach shows in the way citrus brightness is edged with hemp, green leaf and a soft, slightly powdery warmth, giving the fragrance its distinctive hesperidic tension.

Pierre Guillaume - Parfumerie Générale’s story

Pierre Guillaume Paris is a niche house built around numbered, idea-led fragrances that treat perfumery as a creative laboratory. The brand favors poetic concepts, modern construction and a free, independent approach to composition, with an emphasis on originality that still remains easy to wear.

PG29 ITABAÏA’s concept

ITABAÏA belongs to Pierre Guillaume’s numbered Parfumerie Générale series and was conceived as an experiment in citrus effects. Its imagery draws on Brazil, Capoeira and the beach of Itacaré, translating that solar, kinetic energy into a scent of citrus heat, green movement and a hazy hemp-vanilla accord.

Extra info

The name and concept reference Brazil and Capoeira, and the fragrance is part of Pierre Guillaume’s long-running numbered collection. Its transparent bottle follows the house’s understated presentation, meant to avoid fixed ideas about gender or style.
