THE NAME
Stallion + Helios (Sun God).
THE INSPIRATION
A merchant ship sailing from Saint Petersburg to Genoa whose holds were overflowing with Russian reindeer leather (cuir de Russie) was shipwrecked in the 18th century. More than two centuries later, a French tannery reproduced the special quality of this stock. Pierre GUILLAUME was given a few strips of this precious purple leather. These “noble leather scraps” exude a warm, delicate fragrance of infinite preciousness, an animal elegance… the smell of luxury. This material will be the heart of a fragrance symbolised by a horse of Fire: a powerful stallion, elegant and racy, as fiery as the sun: STÆLIOS.
THE FRAGRANCE
Incandescent Bois de Violette…
STÆLIOS is an eau de parfum saturated with woody and floral notes. Luxurious notes of Russian Leather envelop a Violet Wood soaked in a fiery Davana Liquor infused with Ashanti Pepper Leaves.
Saturated with natural elements and high-performance volumising ingredients, STÆLIOS generates a powerful, eye-catching trail and long-lasting hold.
All about this fragrance
Vibe check
This is the scent of close quarters and confident movement: a leather jacket warmed by skin, a sharp profile in a dim room, a presence that arrives before the wearer does. It suits evenings when you want density, polish and a trace of animal heat rather than softness.
How to wear
Best worn in cool weather or after dark, when its leather, woods and spice can unfold without feeling heavy. Use a light hand: one or two sprays are enough to project a strong, polished trail, while warmer skin will bring out the smoky, animalic facets and the violet-wood sheen.
Who it’s for
For those who like dark leather scents with a refined, modern edge: smoky, woody, spicy and slightly animalic rather than sweet. It will appeal to wearers who enjoy statement fragrances with structure, texture and a luxurious, almost equestrian feel.

The nose
Pierre Guillaume is the founder and perfumer behind Pierre Guillaume Paris, and the creative force of the Black Collection. His work is known for unusual material pairings, clear architectural structures and a modern, high-impact style that often blends natural references with a precise, contemporary finish. With Stælios, he turns a rare Russian leather accord into the core of the composition, framing it with violet wood and fiery spice. The result fits his taste for fragrances that feel conceptual but immediately tactile, with strong presence and a distinctive signature.
Pierre Guillaume Black Collection’s story
Pierre Guillaume Paris approaches perfume as a crafted object, with the Black Collection built around “olfactory photographs” rather than a conventional note pyramid. The house favors inventive materials, strong texture and long-lasting compositions that feel both artistic and wearable, with a particular interest in natural essences reimagined through modern perfumery.
Staelios (Discontinued)’s concept
Stælios was created as a 20th-anniversary fragrance for Pierre Guillaume Paris and draws on a striking historical leather story: a ship carrying Russian reindeer leather from Saint Petersburg to Genoa sank in the 18th century, and the material was later recreated by French artisans. Guillaume used those precious leather strips as the heart of a composition imagined as a fiery stallion under the sun.
Extra info
The name combines Stallion and Helios, the sun god, which matches the fragrance’s fiery leather concept. It belongs to the Black Collection, whose bottles use the line’s signature black, shadow-like design. The perfume is also described by the house as a powerful trail fragrance with long-lasting hold.
