This is the updated packaging Vanagloria, now part of the Extreme collection.

A fragrance that expresses all the richness of vanilla in its many nuances. Vanagloria is built around a sublime quality of LMR vanilla pods, whose most subtle tones I have amplified. This Bourbon vanilla, grown in the Indian Ocean, is extracted using CO₂, a cold-extraction technique that reveals the full spectrum of its gourmand, floral, leathery, and spicy notes. Its leathery character is reinforced by saffron, made addictive by a touch of tonka bean, while swirls of incense add a mystical aura to its texture.

All about this fragrance

Vibe check

This is a fragrance for close quarters and low light, where its vanilla, leather and incense can unfold without rushing. It suits a composed, intimate setting: the kind of presence that feels warm, polished and slightly enigmatic rather than openly sweet.

How to wear

Best in cool to mild weather, Vanagloria wears beautifully with a restrained hand: one or two sprays are enough to let the extrait’s density bloom. On skin it should feel creamy, spicy and leathery; in the air, the incense gives it a soft, smoky halo that keeps the sweetness from becoming heavy.

Who it’s for

For wearers who like vanilla with depth and contrast rather than dessert-like sweetness. It will appeal to those drawn to spicy, leathery, incense-laced compositions with a refined gourmand core and a textured, luxurious finish.

The nose

Dominique Ropion is one of contemporary perfumery’s most accomplished architects of texture and contrast, known for compositions that feel polished, powerful and meticulously balanced. His work often moves between radiance and depth, with a particular gift for giving familiar materials a more sensual, dimensional form. For Vanagloria, Ropion turns to vanilla as a full-spectrum material rather than a simple gourmand accent, amplifying its floral, leathery and spicy facets with saffron, tonka bean and incense. The result fits his signature precision: a fragrance that is rich without becoming heavy, and expressive without losing structure.

Collaborators

Roberto Drago, Laboratorio Olfattivo’s creative director, helped shape the concept with Ropion, guiding the fragrance around a long-held desire to build a scent centered on vanilla and its many nuances.

Laboratorio Olfattivo’s story

Laboratorio Olfattivo approaches perfumery as artistic storytelling, building fragrances around emotion, memory and atmosphere rather than trend. The house favors collaboration with perfumers and a clean, understated presentation that lets the composition carry the idea.

Vanagloria (2026)’s concept

Vanagloria was created as a tribute to vanilla in its richest form, using LMR Bourbon vanilla pods from the Indian Ocean and CO₂ extraction to preserve their full aromatic range. Ropion built the fragrance to reveal vanilla’s gourmand, floral, leathery and spicy facets, then deepened the composition with saffron, tonka bean and incense for a more sensual, almost ritualistic finish.

Extra info

Vanagloria appears in updated packaging and belongs to Laboratorio Olfattivo’s Extreme Collection. It is built around a CO₂-extracted Bourbon vanilla from the Indian Ocean, a choice that preserves the material’s full spectrum of nuances.
